The Pourewa Valley is a hidden gem on our doorstep, lying just 6km from Auckland’s CBD, and forming part of a greenbelt stretching from Orakei – Glen Innes. It is one of the last remaining areas of urban forest in Auckland. With the development of the Eastern Shared Path walkway/cycleway, this beautiful and ecologically significant area will soon be enjoyed by a far greater number of commuters and visitors.

Due to these positive developments the environmental and community groups involved in the valley are getting together to form an umbrella group to help protect the valley while providing a voice for local residents in regard to access ways into this new pathway.
